Details and Care for Ungaro Ungaro Perfume launched in 1977, born from the Parisian atelier of designer Emanuel Ungaro. His fashion ran on bold color and unapologetic femininity, and perfumer Raymond Chaillan matched that spirit note for note. Bold was the whole point. Among the heavy hitters of the aldehydic floral era, this one holds its own, standing apart because the floral heart is genuinely complex rather than a single-note idea. Nearly five decades on, it remains a cult favorite among devotees of classic French perfumery. What stays with you longest is the base: sandalwood and vetiver settle into a warm, powdery finish that sits close to the skin. Getting there takes some time. The floral heart is a full bouquet - rose, jasmine, ylang-ylang, iris, and lily of the valley all show up, and none of them disappears into the background. Before any of that, aldehydes and a soft peach note lift a neroli accord that reads almost effervescent in the first ten minutes on skin, with bergamot keeping the whole opening bright. Projection stays moderate, and the scent pulls closer in the later hours. A formal evening suits it well, and so does a full day at the office.
